Listen to Obituary

Theresa Cendrowski, age 91, of Warren, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on May 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 19, 1934, in Pulawski Township to Joseph and Bernice (Kapala) Nowicki. Growing up on the family farm with four brothers and five sisters, Theresa helped her father with daily chores, including feeding the animals, gathering eggs, and milking cows.

After graduating from high school, she moved to Detroit, where she met the love of her life, Arthur “Archie” Cendrowski, at Will’s Bar in Hamtramck. Like many others, they gathered there to dance. Theresa noticed how well Archie danced the polka and found the courage to ask him to dance. Two years later, in August 1957, they were married.

Together, Theresa and Archie raised three children. She was a devoted wife and mother who faithfully took her children to church every Sunday. Theresa loved dancing, had a passion for gardening, and enjoyed making homemade kielbasa and jams to share with family and friends. She had a special gift for making everyone feel valued and loved, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She was known by many names throughout her life—Theresa, Terry, Mom, Momma, and Busha—and each reflected the love she shared with those closest to her.

Theresa is survived by her children, Renee Shultz, Chris Cendrowski and his wife Diane, and Neil Cendrowski and his wife Paula. She was the proud grandmother of Cain, Kayla, Kristina, Matthew, Nicholas, Terra, and Trevor, and the great-grandmother of Hailey and Vincent. She is also survived by her sister, Florence Wozniak, who shares in her family's sorrow.

Theresa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Archie, who passed away in May 2014 and granddaughter Kayla Rose in August 2015.

Theresa will lay Instate on June 12, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, located at 32000 Mound Rd, Warren, Michigan. This will be followed by the Funeral Service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the same location.
