Listen to Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Rocky-John Rodriguez Lim, affectionately known as Roc, who left us too soon on March 10, 2026, at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit Michigan. Born February 24, 1982, in Dearborn, Michigan, Roc was a vibrant soul whose larger-than-life personality touched all who had the privilege to know him.

Roc’s dedication and hard work mirrored his joy and love for life. As a valued mover for Palmer Moving and Storage, he truly delighted in being part of the Palmer family, where his commitment and effort was evident in every task he undertook. This sense of belonging was complemented by his high school years at Warren Fitzgerald High School, where he graduated in the class of 2000. Roc starred on the football and baseball teams and was known for his contagious smile and the love he shared with his diverse group of friends.

Roc was an enthusiastic sports lover who thrived in the excitement and camaraderie of athletics. Whether he was cheering his teams or reveling in a game outdoors, his passion for sports brought joy not just to him but to everyone around him. In addition, he loved his beloved dogs, Vienna and Nike, he cherished the time spent outdoors with them and found solace and happiness in their companionship. Through the years, Roc’s love extended to his fiancé, Tanya Hotchkiss with whom he created lasting memories with while visiting her out-of-state family. Family was everything to Roc, and treasured his role as a father to his sons Brocktin and Brodie, and to his soon to be born daughter, Sophia Grace Lim. Their smiles brightened his world, and he was committed to them every step of the way.

Roc is survived by his loving brother, Rodney (Aimee) Lim, and his sister, Emma Rodriguez. Their bonds reflect a lifetime of shared laughter and deep-rooted love that will continue to inspire those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Remedios and Hernani Lim, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms. Their influence shaped the man Roc became, instilling in him the values of love, kindness, and resilience he so generously shared with all the people he encountered in life.

In a world that can sometimes feel dim, Roc was a shining light, illuminating hearts of those around him. His legacy of affection, love, and dedication will continue to live on in the memories of his family and friends, filling their hearts with warmth as they remember the joy he brought into their lives. A memorial gathering to honor Roc will take place on March 22, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a memorial service commencing at 6:00 PM at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home in Warren, MI.

As we remember Roc let us celebrate this incredible man — his laugh, his loving spirit, and the endless joy he shared with the world. May his memory serve as a reminder to live life with the same vigor and love he embodied every single day. Rest in peace, dear Roc; you will be dearly missed but not forgotten.

Donations to the family would be greatly appreciated at this time.
