Robert L. Mann Sr., affectionately known as "Bubba," passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 27, 1943, Robert lived a life defined by warmth, humor, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved.
A proud veteran, Robert retired as a Master Sergeant from the Air Force after dedicating 20 years of his life to service, including during the Vietnam War. His military career was a testament to his strength and dedication, attributes he carried into every facet of his life. He often recounted tales from his youth, especially his time in Catholic school, where he kept the nuns on their toes with his mischievous antics.
Robert’s career as a machinist at Mercury Gage was notably impactful, as many members of his family were proudly employed there, highlighting his legacy of hard work and dedication to family. Bubba was not only a provider but also a pillar of love, raising his four children—Diana (Randall) Hall, Patricia (Todd) Logsdon, Robert (Donna) Mann Jr., and Susan Mann—with deep affection and guidance.
Bubba's personality was a blend of joy and kindness. He was always the joker, known for his quirky sayings, infectious smile, and the unique ability to bring happiness wherever he went. His family fondly remembers the way he would recite quotes in Donald Duck's voice, filling every moment with laughter and light-heartedness. His hobbies reflected his vibrant spirit; he enjoyed country music and Elvis, cheered for the Detroit Red Wings and the University of Michigan sports teams, and found joy in playing games like Wordle, solitaire, and pinochle with his family and siblings.
A devoted grandfather and great-grandfather, Robert took immense pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which included Nichole, Brad, Robert, Danielle, Michael, Kevin, Harley, Austin, Robert, Mason, Collin, Riley, Wyatt, Penny, and Cian. He cherished the special moments with them, passing along his love for family and togetherness.
Robert was lovingly married for 52 years to Sonja Mann, who he is now reunited with in eternal peace. His loving parents, Leon and Charlotte Mann, also predeceased him and his brothers-in-law Lawrence Przepiora and Edward Lutz, leaving behind cherished memories that his family will carry forward.
Bubba will be deeply missed, particularly by his youngest daughter, who found great joy in their road trips together to visit family. The memory of their adventures will forever linger in her heart. He is survived by his siblings, Frances Przepiora, Kathleen (Paul) Mastalanski, Thomas (Rita) Mann, Denise (Edward Brown) Mann, Leon (Mary-Ann) Mann Jr., Debra Mann, Angela (Bernard) Brys, and Patrica (Thomas Yip) Mann, who will always hold close the shared laughter and love they experienced throughout their lives. He will also fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Veronica, Catherine, Lori, Stephanie, Carol, Derek, Kimberly, Benjamin, Andrew, Sara, Joseph, Rachel and Nicholas.
As we remember Robert L. Mann, Sr. "Bubba," let us celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting joy. A Visitation and Rosary Service will be held on February 15, 2026, at the Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home in Warren, MI, followed by a Mass at St. Mark Catholic Church on February 16 beginning at 11:00 AM. The Final Interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery on February 17 at 11:00 AM.
Bubba was one of a kind, adored by many, and his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.
