Lourance Lam, age 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, May 3, 2026, at Corewell Health Troy Hospital. Born on December 1, 1953, in Hanoi to Bao and Hoa, Lourance built a life rooted in hard work, devotion to family, and generosity toward others.
In 1973, he married the love of his life, Anna Dao. Together they came to the United States, where they built a home and raised five beloved children.
Lourance was known as a true jack of all trades and an entrepreneur from a young age. Over the years, he developed many skills, including baking and auto body repair, where he discovered a passion for fixing cars and mastering anything he set his mind to. He worked in the construction industry, mastering the craft of tile work and eventually passing his passion for the trade on to his two eldest sons. He later started his own business specializing in tile installation and repair.
Lourance also found great joy in cooking, fixing things around the house, gardening, and fishing. Much of his time was spent in the kitchen preparing meals for family and friends, creating moments of warmth, laughter, and togetherness that will be cherished forever. He was happiest when working with his hands, solving problems, and helping those around him.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Anna; his sons, Kevin, Long, and Robert; his daughter, Caroline; his son-in-law, Tony; his daughter-in-law, Elisa; his sister, May; his brothers, Dau and Kevin; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, and his youngest daughter.
Family and friends whose lives were touched by Lourance are invited to gather at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to reminisce, grieve, and support each other.
