Gladys Alline Woodring, née Cagle, born August 17, 1933, peacefully passed away at her home on June 11, 2026, surrounded by her cherished loved ones. Her life was marked by dedication, warmth, and resilience, qualities that left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Gladys’s early years were shaped by a rural upbringing on a farm, where she grew up with cattle, pigs, and chickens. She helped cultivate corn, cotton, soybeans, watermelon, and a variety of vegetables, learning the value of hard work and perseverance from a young age. One particularly fond memory recalled by those closest to her is her unique bond with her pet bull, whom she even rode, a testament to her spirited nature and connection to farm life.

Despite the challenges of rural life, she was a diligent student and graduated from high school in the state of Georgia. Her commitment to education was exemplified by the daily ten-mile walks she undertook to and from school, a feat demonstrating her remarkable determination and strength of character.

Gladys built a career at Chrysler, where she dedicated 36 years sewing car seats, a role she took great pride in. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was widely recognized as a special lady, a devoted mother, and a supportive wife. Her family was the center of her world, and Gladys expressed her love through her home-cooked Southern meals—celebrated by all who gathered around her holiday table. These meals, renowned for being plentiful enough to feed an army, were more than nourishment; they were an expression of her pride in providing for her family and a way to create lasting memories with her children and grandchildren.

Her leisure time was filled with gardening, cooking, and, most importantly, spending time with her family. These interests reflected her nurturing spirit and deep connection to those she held dear.

Gladys is lovingly remembered by her daughter Theresa, sons Terry and James, grandchildren Jason and Jessica, and great-grandchildren Nikolas, Elissa, and Logan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Houston P. Woodring, who passed away in 1984, as well as the last of her eight siblings, whose memories she also cherished.

Her passing marks the end of a life well-lived, characterized by steadfast love, hard work, and an enduring commitment to family. Gladys Alline Woodring will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who were privileged to know her.
