George Fleishans, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on April 8, 2026. Born on November 11, 1938, Mr. Fleishans built a life marked by hard work, kindness, and a deep love for his family that spanned over six decades.

George’s professional life as a truck driver reflected both his dedication and dependability, qualities that extended into his personal life. He was a man who cherished the simple joys—whether it was traveling cross-country during summer vacations with his children, bringing back treasures like rocks and plants from his journeys, or spending quiet moments on his porch with neighborhood friends. He had a remarkable way of enriching the everyday with warmth and laughter.

He had a passion for the outdoors and nature, evident in his loving care of his garden and fishpond and his fondness for raising and breeding birds. His hobbies were a vivid reflection of his gentle spirit and eclectic interests—crocheting, collecting vintage radios, and listening to classic country music and Elvis Presley were all cherished pastimes. An endearing character trait was his playful indulgence of his pug, Glam, sneaking food to her behind his wife’s back.

Family meant everything to George. He shared 66 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Patricia Fleishans. Together, they nurtured a close-knit family that included their children: sons Mark (Cindi) Fleishans and Todd (Arlene) Fleishans, daughters Susan (d. Larry) Vergowven and Julie Brown. George was a proud grandfather to Katrina, Paula, George, Noelle, Jake, Kayla, Gabi, Amy, and Henry, and a great-grandfather to Ella and Caleb and soon to be granddaughter who is due any day now. He especially enjoyed those moments when he could slip $20 bills to his grandchildren, playfully pretending their parents didn’t know, and his family’s gatherings were always brightened by his generosity and good humor.

The community is invited to pay their respects at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home, located at 29440 Ryan Rd, Warren, MI 48092, where a Visitation will be held on April 13, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
