Gean Paul Dominic Gibeault, Sr., a devoted family man, skilled craftsman, and cherished soul, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, in Troy, Michigan, cradled in the loving arms of his devoted wife. Born on July 24, 1946, in Ottawa, Canada, Gean's life was marked by unwavering dedication, gentle warmth, and a wonderful smile that brightened the lives of all who knew him.
A graduate of Madison Heights High School, Gean proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy before building a legacy rooted both in hard work and love. Known as a loyal and hard-core worker, he devoted his career to building and maintaining his business, G&S Roofing Commercial & Trees. Beyond his expertise in roofing and tree services, Gean held a Hazmat CDL endorsement and was the proud owner of a purple semi-truck, symbols of the industrious spirit that defined him. His talents extended far beyond his trade—Gean was a true jack of all trades. Whether it was fixing a family car, plumbing, or remodeling kitchens, if a project needed doing, Gean was there with skill and eagerness. He built additions to the family home, including beautiful upper and lower extensions, and crafted an all-stone fireplace that became the heart of the family gatherings.
The family memories with Gean are treasured pillars of love and warmth. After long days of roofing, he found joy swimming with his family in the pool. Visits to Gean and Susan’s home were always marked by the comforting glow of a fire roaring in the large family room Gean himself had built. Family camping trips, morning coffees at the cottage he constructed for his wife, and the gentle moments spent holding hands while watching birds chirp outside their window paint a portrait of a man who deeply valued simple pleasures and close connections. Always ready with more than enough wood, gathered from his tree jobs, he loved bonfires, family barbecues, and camaraderie around warm flames, as well as hunting trips with friends and joyous Harley rides with his wife.
His personality radiated kindness, warmth, gentleness, and tender-hearted devotion. These qualities made him a dedicated provider and a beloved patriarch. The love shared between Gean and his wife Susan Catherine (nee: Naughton) was a beautiful testament to 54 years of marriage, filled with laughter, dancing in their kitchen, twirling his beloved Susan around, and countless unforgettable road trips, especially to Florida in their camper.
Gean leaves behind his devoted wife, Susan Catherine; his son, Gean; daughters, Cherie and Michele; daughter-in-law Kimberly Gibeault; and son-in-law Nick Akmon. He was a loving grandfather to grandsons Jordan Akmon, Collin Engle, and granddaughters Noelle and Taya Akmon. Their lives are all the richer for the love and guidance he shared.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Prudhomne; father, Auguste Gibeault; brother, Claude; uncle, Toni; and stepfather, Alcide Prudhomne.
Gean's memory will be honored with a gathering of friends and family for a visitation on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service held at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home, 29440 Ryan Road, Warren, Michigan.
Gean Paul Dominic Gibeault, Sr.’s legacy is one of hard work, steadfast love, and heartfelt dedication. He leaves behind a family forever grateful for his kindness and strength—a man whose gentle nature and immense capability made every place he touched a home.
