Frank Bailey

Frank Bailey passed away on August 21, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on November 23, 1939, Frank lived a life marked by devotion to his family, steady work, generosity toward others, and a spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Frank built a long and respected career with Nordlie Inc., where he worked for 42 years selling flowers wholesale. He started the first trucking route selling to customers in the tri-county area, an accomplishment that reflected both his initiative and his deep commitment to his work. He was dedicated throughout his years on the job, and that dedication remained one of the accomplishments of which he was most proud.

Beyond his work, Frank was known as a man who was always willing to help. Everyone loved him, and his loyalty and devotion to his family were at the heart of his life. He took special pride in his son David, in his many years of faithful work, in 61 years of marriage, and in caring for his home and making improvements to it. He also lovingly assisted his mother by getting groceries for her and helping her maintain her home, a simple but meaningful reflection of his caring nature.

Frank gave generously of his time to causes and people he believed in. He supported and assisted the Utica Lions Club and especially helped the organization in its efforts. He also helped with fundraising for Leader Dog, PenRiction, and Bear Lake Camp. Whether through service, practical help, or quiet encouragement, Frank was someone others could count on.

He also enjoyed life’s pleasures and the company of those around him. He liked watching the Lions and Tigers, enjoying a beer, and taking family vacations to Hawaii or Alaska, where he shared treasured time with family and friends. Those moments of togetherness became lasting memories for the people who loved him.

A recent memory brings special comfort to those mourning him. Frank had recently watched the movie "The Bucket List," and the last thing on the list was to laugh until you cry. In remembering Frank, his family and friends can hold close that thought and be grateful that they knew him so well that even in sorrow, they can laugh until they cry.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Bailey, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage; his son, David Bailey; and his nephews, David Burke, Brian Burke, and Todd Sali. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Bailey; his father, Gay Bailey; and his sister, Ann. He will be remembered with love for his loyalty, his helpfulness, his hardworking nature, and the warmth he brought to his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on September 2, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home, 29440 Ryan Rd, Warren, MI 48092. A Memorial Service will take place that same day at 7:00 p.m. at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home.

Frank’s life was one of work, service, family, and love. His memory will remain a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
