Daniel Joseph Dunlop, age 62, passed away April 9, 2021.

He was a resident of Sterling Heights and born in Detroit on May 3, 1958 . He was the son of the late Douglas and Georgette Dunlop. Dan was the beloved husband of Cynthia Dunlop; loving father of Meaghan (John) Tilicki and Ian (Jaclyn) Dunlop; and devoted grandfather of Julia and Johnathon. He was the brother of late Carol Ann (Zeno) Bakowski, Denise (Ted) Porter, and Donna (Ed) Huryn; survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dan was a proud 1987 graduate of Lawrence Tech University. He worked for Detroit Edison for 41 years and retired as a Supervising Engineer in 2019. In 1998 he was the winner of the Alex Dow Award for saving a man's life in the Detroit River. Dan was a long time member and 2019 Commodore of the Detroit Edison Boat Club. He enjoyed boating, spending time with friends and family, and occupied is time with many hobbies. In times of need, he was always willing to help others. We will always value the time we had with him. He will be greatly missed by all.

Friends will be received Wednesday, April 14, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at David Wysocki Funeral Home, 29440 Ryan Road, Warren, Michigan. The Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, April 15, 9:30 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, Warren, Michigan. Instate starts at 9:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Christian Memorial Gardens, West in Rochester Hills, Michigan at 11:30 a.m.

The family requests a memorial be made in his name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Michigan Animal Rescue League, 790 Featherstone, Pontiac, MI 48342 .

Masks are mandatory at all services. In the funeral home, our capacity is currently 25 people at any one time. Please be patient and respectful so we can make sure everyone gets a chance to pay their respects to Dan and his family.
