Barbara Jeanne Weiler

Barbara Jeanne Weiler (née Burton), age 84, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Barbara was born on June 16, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, to George Albert Burton and Lureda Louise Burton (Sager). She spent her childhood in Madison Heights before making her home in Warren, where she lived for most of her adult life.

On November 25, 1964, Barbara married the love of her life, John Edward Weiler. They shared many happy years together until John's passing on September 3, 2017.

Barbara is lovingly remembered by her son, George Edward Weiler; her daughter, Catherine Louise Graham (Weiler); her stepdaughter, Lori Kay Robbins (Weiler) and husband, Willie Robbins; her grandchildren, Glenn Mark Ludeman II and his wife, Stephanie, Jessica Louise Ludeman, and Jacqueline Marie Graham; her great-grandchildren, Brent Mark Ludeman, Aria Louise Ludeman, Sadie Marie Ludeman, Ezekiel Mark Huffman, and Kai Brooks Ansley; her brother, George Richard Burton; and her sister, Shirley Dietrich and her husband, Richard. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Weiler; her stepson, John Edward Weiler Jr.; her step-granddaughter, Michele Robbins; her brother, James Edwin Burton; and her parents.

Barbara attended Madison Heights Public Schools before continuing her education at Alma College and Wayne State University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Education with a focus on Elementary and Special Needs Education.

She spent many years working at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren with Pitney Bowes Management Services, where she delivered mail and built lasting friendships with those she met along the way.

Barbara possessed remarkable creativity and artistic talent. Throughout her life she enjoyed painting, cooking, baking, and sewing everything from everyday clothing to special occasion outfits, doll clothes for Barbie, Cabbage Patch, and American Girl dolls, handmade Cabbage Patch dolls, stuffed animals, and countless other treasured creations.

She will perhaps be remembered most for the thousands of hand-knitted and crocheted dishcloths she lovingly made and gave away over the years. Her handmade gifts found their way into the homes and hearts of family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and even strangers, each one a reflection of her generous spirit.

Barbara was also an accomplished and avid bowler for much of her adult life, creating cherished memories and lifelong friendships through the sport she loved.

Above all, Barbara will be remembered for her beautiful spirit. She greeted everyone with a warm smile, a friendly hello, and genuine kindness. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, and her generosity, creativity, and compassion touched countless lives. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved and the many people fortunate enough to know her.

In keeping with Barbara's wishes, she was cremated and no funeral or memorial service will be held. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
